Johnny Buck is a seasoned UX researcher, systems designer, and equity strategist with over 15 years of experience in public sector transformation and Indigenous-led design. A member of the Wanapum and Yakama Nations with an MS in Human-Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington, he currently serves as Executive Director of Indigenous Just Transition while consulting as Principal at PrplBluJ, his Indigenous-owned UX research firm. His work emphasizes liberatory design, participatory governance, and culturally responsive service development, having led major projects with Washington State agencies and served as UX Design Manager at the Tubman Center for Health and Freedom, where he grounded healthcare service design in community care principles and believes systemic change is most sustainable when honoring the leadership and wisdom of those most impacted.
