josh is a Brown and queer leader with Mexican and Sri Lankan heritage who has over a decade of experience driving equity-forward systems change in government and nonprofit sectors. He specializes in dismantling harmful systems affecting communities of color and historically oppressed groups, with particular expertise in food sovereignty and social justice that led to overturning discriminatory policies in Washington state's emergency food system. Having led the Communities of Practice for Public Health education program at the CDC, josh now works at Future Emergent as a community-focused facilitator and organizational development consultant, holding a certificate in Strategic Management from Wharton University and advanced facilitation training from the Anti-Oppression Resource and Training Alliance while writing about systems transformation and racial justice on his blog "be the future."
